From Our Family to Yours
We are Stephen and Catherine, owners of The Body Bar, a family-owned and operated Massage and Acupuncture Center. The Body Bar has been serving clients for many years, first in Lafayette and now in Gunbarrel. We are dedicated to bringing the best of acupuncture and massage to the front range. We look forward to working with you!
Our deep study of acupuncture began at Taoist Education and Acupuncture (ITEA) in Louisville, CO, where we completed a 4-year Master’s program in Classical Five Element Acupuncture. After the completion of this program, we became National Board Certified Diplomates of Acupuncture and licensed acupuncturists, and have been practicing in Boulder County for over 10 years.
Our Philosophy
We bring a safe, compassionate and nurturing presence to our practice. We value the inherent uniqueness of individuals, and see each patient as a whole person rather than a mere set of symptoms. We view the patient-practitioner relationship as a partnership, whereby both work as a team to help the patient reach their highest potential.
Concerning healing, we feel strongly that anything is possible, and ask that our patients be open to this possibility as well.
We are both passionate about the connection between wellness and being in tune with the rhythms of nature.
Our Healing Space
Our Acupuncture and Massage practice provides a space that is physically, emotionally, and energetically safe for clients of any age and in any stage of health. In that space, we help our clients meet their goals to recover, improve, or maintain their health and happiness.

Each of our treatment rooms is decorated with a relaxing earthy color palette to encourage relaxation of body and mind.
Nature's Elements for Relaxation
Sounds of nature remind us of our connection to the natural world and can transport you naturally into a state of relaxation. Enjoy the soothing sound of water from our beautiful water feature, as well as relaxing nature sounds music, as you enter our waiting area.
Nature's Lighting
Our waiting and treatment rooms are lit with natural lighting and the soft light of a lamp, to encourage the relaxation of your nervous system. We avoid bright, fluorescent lighting, which can be triggering to our nervous systems.
